  • In The Midst of A Seven Year Peace Treaty

From September of 1993 until September of 2000, the world witnessed Israel and the Palestinians enact a series of agreements officially called the Peace and Security Agreement. It began with the famous hand shake between Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat. Bill Clinton was in the middle (in more ways than one). An interim agreement followed in September 1995 resulting in Yitzhak Rabins assassination in November of 1995. The peace process was rejuvenated and an agreement was made with Rabin’s grave, thus confirming the process. From Oslo II, an agreement on Hebron followed, then the Wye River Accord; a stalemate ensued. Ehud Barak, a decorated general, became the Prime Minister. In September of 1999, he and Arafat initiated the Jerusalem negotiations and set the deadline for September of 2000. The summer of 2000 saw Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, and Yasser Arafat lay it on the line at camp David. On the very brink of the agreement, disaster and collapse set in.

The negotiations collapsed over the issue of Jerusalem and the temple mount. Bill Clinton could not understand the dilemma. He had proposed that Israel and the Palestinians would share the mount (each have a part), but Arafat balked. Arafat wanted all of Jerusalem and wanted the Jews to have nothing. In the months that have followed, various negotiators on both sides have said the same thing. The seven year agreement is annulled, it is cancelled, it is void. When asked by reporters what would happen next, the chief Palestinian negotiator answered, Whatever happens from now on will be in the midst of the seven year agreement.

The prophet Isaiah spoke of an agreement that would dramatically affect Israel before the final judgment of all the earth.

    (Isa 28:14-22)
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord Elohim, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord Elohim of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Isaiah described the role of the Jerusalem leaders, the shortcomings of the agreement, the motivation for the agreement, and the cancellation of the agreement by Elohim’s hand. Isaiah also called the agreement the A Covenant with death and the A Pact with Sheol (grave). These are exact descriptions given by world leaders for the seven year agreement. Isaiah also said that the agreement would be cancelled, literally annulled. But one of the most striking prophetic descriptions of this event is from the Apostle Paul. He said it would result in war, suddenly.

Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, Peace and safety! security then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

    1Thes 5:1-3
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

As I said, the official title of the agreement is the Peace and Security Agreement. This has been the theme throughout the entire seven year period including the Israeli election process between Peres and Netanyahu, between Netanyahu and Barak.

But how does this seven year agreement relate to the last generation? Both Isaiah and Paul said it. This agreement sets the stage for the final judgment (Tribulation Period). Paul said, And then destruction will come upon them suddenly... Isaiah said, (Isa 28:22). Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord Elohim of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Be prepared, soon we will witness the signing of a 7 year peace agreement. When this happens Believers in Christ are out of here for the ride to meet Christ in the clouds.
